Santo Habitat hosts field day workshop
Staff and volunteers of the Santo Habitat Building Centre

Santo Habitat Building Centre in partnership with the Habitat for Humanity Vanuatu will be hosting its first field day workshop on Friday April 7 at the Luganville Unity Park. The purpose of this activity is to fundraise towards the centre's new premises as well as to give out awareness and publicity of this organization based in Luganville.

According to the Project Manager, Miss Caryn Larvenia, during this day, there will be displayed activities, sports and sale of island food and there will also be other valuable activities such as information sharing, awareness, building demonstration, sale of furniture, smokeless stove, and micro-concrete roofing titles and many more.

Any sports teams wishing to participate in this fun day are advised to contact the Santo Habitat Advisory team whose chairman is Jonas Ravo from the Sanma Youth and Sport or contact 27468.There will be a participation fee and lots of good prizes to win.

The Habitat for humanity Vanuatu is a Christian non-profitable organization set up in Vanuatu mainly to assist especially low-income earners on information and how they can work together as a community to achieve some of their needs. Housing is one of the main areas that this organization has been assisting the people of Vanuatu with.

In addition to expanding its work on Santo, Habitat's new centre in Luganville also has plans to start building the outer islands in the coming months. Projects include a house in West Ambae, a Co-op in Gaua and a secondary school dining hall in Central Pentecost.
