To volunteer on a HFHV build site means to get your hands dirty. You'll be mixing cement, carrying equipment, digging, making blocks, building walls...
You'll also be learning lots of new skills. We don't expect any previous construction experience to work on a Habitat home – you'll be taught everything you need to know to do the job.
But best of all, you'll be working at the heart of the community, knowing you're making a real and lasting difference to people's lives. For international volunteers, this is a unique opportunity to experience the warmth, hospitality and fun of Ni-Vanuatu culture.
For more information on visiting Vanuatu, see our Country background links page.
Global Village trips usually last between five days and two weeks. Because of the numbers of people involved, they allow us to greatly accelerate our building schedule – which means we can help build more homes for more families.
You don't need to know building skills to join a Global Village team – everyone is welcome.
To find out more, and for details on how to join, contact your local Habitat affiliate, or see Habitat for Humanity International's Global Village pages (external site).
