HFHV has built homes in the main squatter communities of the capital. A partnership project with the Lions Club has provided new homes for disabled people. More Save and Build groups are being established, and our new Building Centre will be the focus of training and building operations.

HFHV has programmes helping rural communities in different parts of the island. We promote traditional and alternative building methods, while encouraging environmental solutions and the use of local resources and materials.

Santo
The HFHV Building Centre on Santo runs workshops on CIB, roofing tiles, smokeless stove construction and carpentry. A Save and Build group has been formed in central Luganville, and plans to begin building on several outer islands are underway.

We are working with Rural Training Centres to reach out to communities in remoter parts of Vanuatu. Workshops have taken place on several islands, including Paama and Epi, and interest groups are being established in Ambae, Pentecost, Tanna, Erromango and Malekula.
